I'm in Florida. Build them one at a time in the garage. I have had many good reviews from other players. I use mine for jazz and theater work. It uses 2 magnetic pkups balanced with an underwood on the bridge. It is set up so any bridge pkup can plug in to an internal balance with the magnetic using a short 1/4" cord.. I went with a 40" solo bass string length. Ebony board, electric bass tuners. The Body on mine is all laminated pine. The next one will probably be maple neck/spruce or pine body. I like the laminated 3/4" board even for the neck because a solid neck is more apt to break with the grain. I have repaired a few acoustic uprights that this has happened to. I sell them for $1800 with the balance system and the magnetic pkups. You add what ever bridge pkup you want, if you need to. If you dont do much arco, you may not need any.
