I've been building EUBs for nearly 30 years and I believe I am the first to build the short scale crossover bass designed to be user-friendly for electric bassists.
I coined the term EUB in my 1975 brochure to describe my 35" scale EUB-35.5, a five-string EUB with a scroll head.
My EUBs are on countless recordings and many, many Grammies in all musical genres.
I have just designed a 42 inch scale EUB, to be sold through Musician's Friend for under $1200. It is a scroll-headed, minimalist design, very portable, great sounding bass well within the budget of all bassists.
Dave Pomeroy, the great Nashville bassist, has played one of my electric uprights, a five-string called "the Beast" for twenty years. It is a great honor and a real treat to hear my instruments in so much fine music. I'm also especially proud that George Holmes of the Inkspots plays one of my basses. |
