Takamine - B-10

Reviewer: Will Kaldy
Amplifier Used: Eden WT-400 w 410xlt and 210 ART Nightbass
  • Vintage: 2002
  • Number of Strings: 4
  • Balance While Playing: ******** (8/10)

I've had the bass several years. I bought it used. I have a nice upright with a pickup.  Musicians in the audience says the B-10 sounds better than the upright. I played it in a fairly loud rock band along with a fretted Pedulla MVP-5 (which is a very powerful bass). One of my musician friends commented that the B-10 sounded like an acoustic version of the Pedulla, just as powerful. A bass player friend had commented, the first time he heard the Pedulla (before I got the B-10) that the Pedulla could do anything, sounding electric or upright, depending on my playing style or tone settings on the particular song.

What I'm trying to say is that this thing will keep up with one of the best electric solid bodies on a rock-and-stage. No feedback.
The built-in tuner is great. You can notch out a feedback prone frequency. A little cut of "C" works great. Add a small amount of built-in reverb for extra warmth and smoothness. This thing is fun and very cool. My secret weapon.
