If you are looking for a Bass that sounds similar to an Acoustic Upright bass, Than this is one of them. But in reality it is an acoustic bass but not as large as a 3/4 or full. But by now if you are researching for a EUB you probably seen one, played or read a review about it.

I would first like to discuss the sound. You will really love the acosutic sound as it is close to the Big Boy Acoustic Upright. Im not knocking the other EUB which have sounds of there own. Many sound great and that is the criteria of knowing exactly the sound you are searching for. Many sound like or similar to a Big Big Big fretless guitar sound with alot of sustain. Thats not bad either. But the eminence bass sounds more like a traditional upright. If that is what you are looking for than by all means try one.

I have a 5 string with markers. They are thin markers and can not be seen unless you are close up but i had it for a month and im not really looking at them anylonger. I am sort of scared of it as it is my first electric upright (Not my first Acoustic) but I am getting use to it.

The strings are those helicore Hybrids. Many don't like them. I am included with that. They just don't feel right. But many like them so you have to make the choice. I say get the strings you are confortable with. The Tuners are a drawback to this bass. Looks like or similar to shaller bass guitar tuners. One was bent when it arrived. I basically bought what they call a factory second. For the less money I paid it really isn't worth it. And not to go on any futher with it, and the other flaws lets leave that alone and just gear yourself to a new non factory second bass.

I have played out with the bass and I really enjoyed hearing the quality of sounds that it produces. I hate to say what it sounds like  but Im going to because it just reminds me of one of my earlier Juzak bass. It has a nice mid range to it. I love the pickup. It really sends the bass over the top. Simple yet very effective.

When you research for an EUB and stumble accross the Eminence Bass I would recommend you try it. It really is one of the few basses that sound close to the 3/4 or 4/4 size basses.
