This bass is made by luthier Bent Jensen, a Danish violinmaker working in Sweden. I`d say it's made around 1990, one of the first he made. The pickup is a Wilson, and the sound is excellent. The bridge is a bit clumsy, and I would like to shave it down a bit, but this is a cumbersome operation, so I coose to use light gauge strings instead (Corelli). The upper bout extension is made from a Pearl Drums tomtom holder and it works so-so. Craftsmanship is OK, but not superb, but I got it for a steal, so I'm quite happy anyway. Electronics are passive (later Jensens have an EBS Micro preamp), and it sounds OK anyway through my amps (G-K combo with ext cab), but I normaly put an old Sadowsky preamp in the chain, and that sure improves the sound.
Since I'm a pizz player, I can't really say anything about the bowability. And, yes, I had a local luthier install "sissy dots" on the side of the fingerboard.
