Review

Palatino - VE-500

Reviewer: Jerome Robinson (http://www.jeromethebassist.com)
Primary Use: Primarily used for Jazz, Blues, and some Rockabilly.
Amplifier Used: SWR SM-400, Ampeg B-15 PortaFlex (varies depending on the gig).
  • Vintage: 2005
  • Number of Strings: 4
    • Double bass strings compatible
  • Bowable: Yes
  • Balance While Playing: ********** (10/10)
  • Transportability: ******** (8/10)
  • Overall Rating: ********** (10/10)

Out of the few EUB's I've had the opportunity to play, my Palatino sounds closest to an acoustic upright than most (some of the higher end EUB's I've tried sound closer to fretless basses).

I've taken the bass out on tour and have had no issues with it's reliability.
I've also used it in the studio and recv'd very cool comments from surprised engineers on the basses tone!
