The Azola floating top bass may set the standard by which all other EUB's can be judged. The designers have captured the essence of the Acoustic Bass in many ways; creating an instrument that feels and balances like a traditional upright while responding very clearly to any player's personal style.

I have used my Azola successfully in a variety of situations where the trad bass would have failed because of sound (loud) or space (none) considerations. This allows me to play upright alot more than I've been willing and able to in recent years.

Of course, nothing can replace the acoustic, but this bass has not ever felt like a musical compromise. I have always felt that putting a pickup on an acoustic was an ass backwards approach!

The Azolas got it right with this floating top bass; it's punchy, the arco sound is excellent, it's lightweight, the construction and materials are top notch. The purchase price is fair, and the company backs their product 100 percent, and then some. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the next Messiah in the world of bass plays an EUB, probably an Azola.
