Takamine - B-10

Just got this instrument. It does indeed sound like a double Bb bass. Anouther gentlement stated that La Bella nylon strings contributed even more to that type of sound. I intend to try them out. As to the electronics, Takamine knows what they are doing. The piezo system is the strongest point on the instrument. The convenience of the size, and the traditional "sound" made it attractive for me. It is also very "pretty" to look at. Just my opinion. I would like to have had position markers, but no problem, I'm now adding them. Even with the rounded finger board, their is not enough angle at the bridge for bowing. I would have liked to have had that feature, but one can't have everything. I am changing out the DSP pre-amp in the unit and replacing it with the accuracoustic one. The DSP is a battery hog. Plus, I don't really need the reverb efx onboard anyway. The accuracoustic is a better pre-amp.  I can't for the life of me, see why Takamine discontinued it.
