Not a bad sounding instrument but quite a bit of percussive attack when plucked. Bowed sound good with proper eq. I don't expect to get an acoustic bass sound with this instrument, so taken on its own terms, it can be good if it's a sound you like.

negatives: came with a too short upper bout extension (I made my own), difficult to balance when bowed. I think an adjustable bridge is a must on these instruments and this doesn't have one, you have to adjust the neck angle. Also, this instrument was set up poorly, the cut of the bridge is wrong for the neck (E string too high, G string too low). The endpin must be locked into place with a screw which is a pain. Should have a quick release and lock of some kind.
