I recently purchased a second hand fretless bass, stlyed after the Martin Backpaker 6 string acoustic. It has a Piezo pickup installed. It has no manufacturer markings either internally or externally. I believe it's a custom job.
As I've been interested in playin UB for some time, I have fitted this with a removable "spike" about 1 1/2 feet long.
Has anyone seen anything done like this before?
It looks a little strange but plays well and sounds pretty reasonable too.
