Like I said in the other reply, look at Lemur Music (
http://www.lemurmusic.com), 1-800-246-BASS. Did you read my answer?
They only sell bass stuff.
The EUB-DB is devoted to the electric upright bass.
If you want an acoustic, you'd better browse places like
http://www.talkbass.com/forum/in... and
http://www.urbbob.comPlywood basses are made of... plywood.
They're the cheapest models.
That doesn't mean they're bad though.
They're a good beginner instrument, and are more sturdy than carved instruments.
Brands to look for are old Kays, among others.
Some plywoods have a carved top, and are sometimes called hybrids.
The best instruments are made of solid wood. The top and bottom are carved.
(bottom, sides and neck are made of maple, top of fir or spruce)
Fingerboard and tailpiece are usually made out of ebony, but also rosewood or other exotic hard woods.
In any case, you'll want to get your instrument properly setup by a qualified luthier, and get good strings.
Hope this helps!
