a guy with a "beatle bass" asked me to convert it so it played "upright." i mounted it on a stand. now it sounds and plays like an electric bass guitar on a stand, and looks like the dude's holding it the wrong way!

never mind the frets and the scale for sound, the fingerboard radius makes a huge difference in the way it plays, not so much the angle.
