Consider using pa speakers far away rather than bass sepakers.  The BBE will really boost the treble hamonics.  A notch filter, manual or automatic will greatly reduce feedback problems.  If all else fails consider a drum plexiglass box, like you see at broadway shows and some churches.  The notch filter and distance from speakers will do the most good.  I'v had a feedback exterminator for several years that I have been pleased with.  Also consider ear buds and monitor amp if you use a live monitor, i.e., in front of you as you play.
