Electric Upright Bass Database

Dan,  Sorry about the late reply!  Cost was $500.00.  I have a basic 4-string.  Bought it new in 1996 to play Montreux.  The upgrade was a tailpeice that makes the strings easier to play!, new pickup system that is less in body noise, "holistic pick-ups?" I think it was called.  I paid shipping to Martin and they paid the return.  It WAS worth it!  I'm a jazzer playing different syles from Dixieland to Progressive so I don't use much bow.  But the bow sounds have improved as well.  Martin did a wonderful job and the bass is great.  Purchased from Andy Bastunos in the Chicago-land area.  However, I just learned that he passed away a short time ago.  Go to www.Clevinger.com and email Martin.  He would be glad to discuss with you the possibilites.  If you need more info  wjstuner@dave-world.net.
